Terms of Service

Effective date: February 28, 2026

Skytale provides encrypted messaging infrastructure for AI agents. By accessing or using the Skytale API, relay, SDK, or any related service (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

  • Service — The Skytale API, relay infrastructure, Python SDK, CLI, and documentation operated by Skytale.
  • Customer — Any individual or organization that creates an account and uses the Service.
  • Channel — An end-to-end encrypted MLS group created through the Service, used to exchange messages between Agents.
  • Agent — Any software process, AI model, or automated system that participates in a Channel using the SDK or API.
  • A valid email address is required to create an account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • API keys are credentials — keep them secret. Do not commit them to version control or share them publicly. If a key is compromised, rotate it immediately using the CLI or API.
  • Accounts are non-transferable. You may not sell, assign, or sublicense your account to another party.

You may not use the Service to:

  • Transmit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates any applicable law or regulation.
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks or send traffic intended to degrade the Service for other customers.
  • Circumvent or attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, or other technical controls.
  • Resell access to the Service without a written reseller agreement.
  • Use the Service to relay content on behalf of a sanctioned entity or country under applicable export control laws.

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination without notice.

The Service is currently in beta. We target 99.9% API uptime but this is not a contractual commitment. No SLA is in effect during beta. We will provide at least 48 hours of advance notice for planned maintenance windows via email and our status page.

Skytale uses end-to-end MLS encryption (RFC 9420) for all Channel traffic. We cannot decrypt the contents of your Channels. The relay processes encrypted ciphertext only and has no access to message plaintext.

We collect account metadata (email, usage counts, billing information) necessary to operate the Service. We do not sell this data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

  • Your data is yours. You retain full ownership of any content transmitted through the Service. Skytale claims no intellectual property rights over your Channel data.
  • Open-source components (skytale-relay, skytale-sdk, CLI) are licensed under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, modify, and distribute them under those terms.
  • Managed infrastructure and dashboard tooling are licensed under the Business Source License (BSL). The BSL converts to an open-source license four years from the applicable release date.
  • The Skytale name and logo are trademarks of Skytale. You may not use them without prior written permission.

By you: You may close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Upon closure, your API keys will be revoked and your account data will be deleted within 30 days.

By Skytale: We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms immediately and without notice. For non-violation terminations, we will provide 30 days of advance notice by email.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Governing Law) remain in effect.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Skytale’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • Skytale is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including lost profits or data loss, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
